Fewer work accidents in Mexico

In 2006, Danfoss’ factory in Mexico had 35 work-related accidents resulting in absence. Even though 31 were less serious accidents resulting in absence periods of less than ten days, the number was unacceptable. So it was necessary to drastically change the structure of the safety organisation and safety procedures. In 2007, they managed to reduce the number of work-related accidents to 12.
The factory management was strongly committed to the safety work and a 5S system has been introduced at the factory. 5S is a method to obtain and retain a clean and orderly workplace in the production and in the offices. The management reviews the factory areas on a weekly basis and every meeting is opened with the subject of safety. The attention has been a determining factor in achieving successful results.

Corporate Citizenship

Danfoss’ overall goal within Corporate Citizenship is "keeping our own house in order".
This applies to employees, so that they have an attractive workplace and a healthy work-ing environment. It applies to the environment, where Danfoss products contribute to energy savings, and where the environmental impact of their production is constantly being reduced.
And it applies, in a broad sense, to social and ethical responsibility.
Efforts are continually being intensified, because when employee satisfaction is high, consumption of resources is as low as possible, and the company’s ethics and reputation are good, the result is a positive effect on the accounting bottom line.
